The forward, 25, cost 3million after joining from Oxford United in 2016 and the deal has proved to be a bargain with Roofe scoring 13 goals in 18 games this term including last-minute winners against Aston Villa and Blackburn this month.The Daily Mirror reports that Newcastle could table an offer for Roofe if Benitez is given the funds to spend in January.But Leeds are not willing to sell their prized asset as the Championship table-toppers look to win promotion back to the Premier League.Newcastle are in need of goals this season as Salomon Rondon is the only player who has scored more than two goals this season.2
