Sanchez is set to star in a film

The movie was Sanchez’s idea and filming started last year, according to executive producer Rocio Jadue.“Everybody loves him [in Chile],” said Jadue. “He is considered a big hero.”The film has been put together by award-winning director Alejandro Fernandez Almendras and, rather than being a movie about the United star’s life, it instead focuses on a story of a 12-year-old boy, Tito, who accidentally meets his hero Sanchez.“The unexpected friendship between the child and the idol brings teachings for both: Tito discovers his true path in life and Alexis is reunited with the stories from his childhood that make him remember the reason why he loves football,” the film’s synopsis reads. Sanchez, 30, has struggled for form at Old Trafford since his switch from Arsenal last season.The former Barcelona star scored just one goal in 20 Premier League appearances this season and has been linked with a move away in the summer.Fernandez believes people will be impressed by Sanchez’s acting in the film.2

“I think people will be surprised at how Alexis acts – what he does and says,” said Fernandez. “He goes beyond what we see on the pitch.”And Sanchez himself has admitted acting is a very different challenge to playing football.Speaking to ADN Radio Chile,Sanchez said:“It’s different from playing soccer. There, you are not worried about the cameras. I am a perfectionist and I want things to go well. In the end, I was relaxed and happy and it came out natural.”
